Tonight (May 7) we saw fan favorite Dr Zoe Hanna leave Holby for America. Sunetra joined Casualty as Zoe Hanna and made her first appearance on 29th December 2007. Over the past 8 years, her character, Zoe, has been involved in several iconic storylines. Her first one being her affair with Orthopaedic Surgeon, Sean Anderson, who was also in a relationship with one of Zoe's fellow colleagues, Jessica Harrison.
Another memorable storyline is Zoe's infertility which led to the fostering, and nearly adoption, of Sharice and this storyline has been carried through to be involved in more recent storylines.
Zoe's been involved in other storylines including her relationships with Nick Jordan and Matt Strong, being blackmailed by her 15 year old lover Joel and her close friendship with Linda Andrews, Dylan Keogh and Tess Bateman. The consultant was also promoted to Trauma Lead, as well as Clinical lead, in 2010 but later resigned from the role.
Another iconic storyline that has shown a different side to Zoe is her relationship with porter Max Walker the pair embarked on a secret relationship until Zoe decided to leave the ED leaving a broken hearted Max behind. Luckily Zoe returned and a few months later the pair got back together in what is now known as a Zax memorable moment where Zoe told max "some flames aren't meant to go out". The next couple of months were life changing for Zoe when she moved in with Max, accepted Max’s proposal of marriage after he admitted that it didn't matter she couldn't have children as she was enough for him and then getting married and becoming Mrs Zoe Walker. However the night before the wedding Zoe made a drunk mistake and slept with someone. Which she admitted to Max after he guessed something had happened, this left both Zoe and Max heartbroken. However even after everything there is still a spark between them.
We know Zoe will be sadly missed and we are all gutted Sunetra is leaving Casualty and hope one day Sunetra returns to the show.
However everyone at Entirely Holby would like to wish Sunetra Sarker the very best for the future and hope to see her on on TV scenes very soon.
