Casualty Review: Series 32, Episode 28

The title of this week's episode ought to have been "we saw that coming!" as so many cogs seemed to fit together in this highly dramatic instalment. What's becoming prominent is how the new characters have fitted in so well that it's starting to feel (for me, anyway!) as though they've always been at Holby, causing chaos!

It was good to see Dylan (Will Beck) back and sarcastic as ever, too - I love that he announced would like to choose his patients and his colleagues, so typical. Here's are a few of the highlights from a jam-packed programme.

Gem & Rash

The spark between Gem (Rebecca Ryan) and Rash (Neet Mohan) made an appearance a short while ago, however this week we saw sparks start to fly. Not only was it suggested that the young doctor was out to impress her by running to keep fit (which didn't work!), but he went on to impress in spectacular style. Rash to the rescue was not a phrase I thought I'd say, but when an injured prisoner who is high risk 'kidnaps' Gem and has a knife to her throat, Rash thinks nothing of mounting the bonnet of the car said prisoner is in the process of stealing. His heroic efforts pay off, in more ways than one? We're being teased with this storyline!

Disapproving Duffy

Duffy (Cathy Shipton) was quite a dominant character in this instalment and her disapproving looks spoke volumes! I caught myself following her in the scenes she graced because I felt sure that at some point there would be a cursory eye roll. Rash soon won her over though, he came into his own when a patient with a pace maker looked to be in serious trouble and Duff was quick to congratulate him on his work.

'Bea' the best

Bea (Michelle Fox) is eager to please her mentor and course leader, not least because she has a place to offer to one lucky person on a prestigious international training course. Bea's passion for the subject matter is evident, but she has competition and it's clear she's quick to assume that she stands little chance of success, or does she? He quick mind and conscience will likely stand her in good stead...

Alicia's antics

Following on from last week's bombshell, Alicia (Chelsea Halfpenny) is still in Ethan's (George Rainsford) bad books and he's not going to forgive her for blog-gate any time soon. Charlie (Derek Thompson) also makes it known that he knows what she's done and as ever, he's protective of Ethan. She'll be paying for this error of judgement for a long time.
