Casualty Review: Series 32, Episode 27

This week's instalment of BBC One's Casualty saw the 'mystery' blogger story blown wide open. The repercussions were wide-spread and will continue to resonate for some time. Elsewhere there was a breakthrough for Rash (Neet Mohan) with unwavering support from Bea (Michelle Fox). Read the full review here:

Jac's on the case

There was a Holby City/Casualty cross-over when Jac (Rosie Marcel) appeared in order to get to the bottom of blogger-gate. Ethan (George Rainsford) is hell bent on seeking out the culprit and even goes as far as to ask Alicia (Chelsea Halfpenny) if she's behind it. A horrified Alicia denies it. Which makes for an uncomfortable and awkward situation later in the episode.

Rash makes a spectacle of himself

Who knew that Rash's specs were plastic ones with no prescription lenses? What a revelation! However, he's been such a shrinking violet since he joined the ED, tickle-stomached in the face of most situations, it's great to see the Junior Doctor finding his feet. It was a young patient stirring emotions which catalysed the lightbulb moment and like a bolt out of the blue Rash had his specs off and admitted that he wore them to make him feel confident. I'm impressed with the turn of events in the character's story, let's see what else is lurking in his past.

Be more Bea

Bea is a character I'm warming to, and I still want an answer to last week's final scene where we were left unsure as to why she had accepted a lift to a house she doesn't live in. I'm enjoying her comradeship with Rash, this week she seemed genuinely proud of him and I feel her support will continue to boost his ego, which is needed.

Alicia's alienated

Alicia finally comes clean to Ethan, despite her opportunity to do so earlier on. The moment Ethan finds out that she's been responsible for blogging about the hospital and department, it appears that not only might he always have had an inkling, he is now irreversibly disappointed in his ex-beau. When Jac arrives ready to trigger the downfall of the blogger, Ethan surprisingly refuses to name names and assures his colleague that he's sorted it out. Although it's clear that Jac would love to pursue this further, it's right up her street isn't it? So, Alicia's left wondering if there's still hope for her relationship with Ethan - and boy does he let her have it! Even bringing Cal (Richard Winsor) into the equation. She's sealed her own fate there, and actually Alicia's come-uppance has been a long time coming.

Good news for the rest of the staff though as Ethan is going to approve annual leave requests again - holiday time!
