Casualty Review: Series 32, Episode 26

An episode packed full of twists, turns and Dylan (Will Beck) was very much at the hub with his personal story which continues to be a running theme throughout this series and is being dealt with superbly, in my humble opinion!

Another fine mix of guest actors too and some high-jinx from Gem (Rebecca Ryan) and co. Here's the full review:

Dylan's demons

Dylan's attending Alcoholics Anonymous, which is a great turning point in Dylan fighting his demons. His attendance at the group leads to interaction with two fellow attendees whom he is reunited with sooner than he expects when they arrive in the Emergency Department the next day. Joseph (James Thorne) has suffered a fatal Stroke, this occurred after an extra marital night out with Ciara (Belinda Stewart-Wilson), neither of them were alcohol-free during their encounter! Not only does Ciara's presence at Dylan's place of work encroach on his private life (although Louise (Azuka Oforka) is the only one within earshot of Ciara's revelations about Dylan's Alcoholism and she already knows about it), I also think it's a wake up call for him. I was glad to see him attending another AA meeting, you can do it Dylan!

Revenge on Rashid

Dr Masum (Neet Mohan) has been showing disrespect towards the auxiliaries, with Gem being the main target. Unsurprisingly, Noel (Tony Marshall) is in on the plot to seek revenge on the unwitting junior doctor. With an unruly patient called Dan Danger (Nick Bartlett) causing havoc, it's not long before Rashid realises he's being played. So he gets his own back on Gem - happily they've come to an understanding, sealed with a fist bump! Is it just me or was Gem eyeing up her 'opponent' in a rather love-struck manner? I shall watch this relationship with interest!

Dr Kinsella

Bea Kinsella (Michelle Fox) is a law unto herself and quite a handful for her mentor, Ethan (George Rainsford). This week she's trying to treat every patient single-handedly, almost putting a patient with an open fracture at risk in her eagerness. She's a great character so full of energy and verve, and her excitement when Ethan had booked her onto a course was joyous. The lift home from Rash's mum is quite revealing though, when she asks to be dropped off in an area and at a house she doesn't live in. What's going on? My interest was piqued on a cliff-hanger!

Alicia's adult-ing!

Alicia (Chelsea Halfpenny) is buying a house and (as Bea puts it) adult-ing! The journey Alicia's come on as a Junior Doctor and in her personal life has been quite some rollercoaster so to see her settle in her own home will be a real milestone.

Blog-busters...

Although Alicia's matured in one respect with a house purchase on the horizon, however her anonymous blog is still causing ructions. Where the blogging is concerned her maturity wains somewhat, even though she has a point and she's standing up for what she believes in. Ethan is clearly still riled by the blog and remains on the dark about the author. More to come on that I expect, and I'm anticipating explosive scenes when the truth outs.
