Alice is cripplingly shy and finds people intimidating. She's exceptionally bright but she's never achieved anything academically because of her fear of exams. Because she's so bright and organised, she's a brilliant administrator and therefore an excellent receptionist but she finds dealing with the public absolutely terrifying.
